This week, StopNED folks joined community allies in the courts, at hearings, in the State House and on the streets to fight back against the return of the plan to tax Massachusetts residents on our electric bills to subsidize fracked gas pipelines. Remember the NESCOE “tariff?” Same idea, different approach. First the Baker Administration got the DPU to create a “cost recovery mechanism” targeting the ratepayers, now the Speaker of the House has the idea in the omnibus energy bill.
As we already know from the start of the NED fight in 2014, we don’t need the gas, we don’t need to put ratepayers at risk and we certainly don’t need the corporate welfare. Let’s all take action today to legislation legalizing the pipeline tax in its tracks TODAY!
